One year later..

It's been over a year, and I just found out that I had over 3000 views on my blog....

It's a strange feeling to be responsible for so many people being disappointed when they go to check out a blog...

Anyway, some people kept asking if Boys for Sale 3 is coming out....and the answer is 'no'. There's not really much more to say. It's a terrible situation, and it's not something that I'm necessarily trying to make much money on. I really do appreciate the fact that some people enjoy my writing, but I think it's time to branch out to something new...

The Clipper of Kings...soon to be released...will be a semi-fantasy novel that wonders what happens if the hero refuses to do what he's supposed to according to the prophecy?

Lately, whenever I read fantasy books, I generally wind up having two issues -

1) Why does the main character become the strongest/smartest/most amazing character?

2) Who makes these prophecies? Who are these gods that guarantee that something will happen? In general, as soon as there is a prophecy, we already know how the story will end. The only person who really did this well was David Eddings, who showed how there were two sets of prophecies, one for each side....but even for that, who made them, and does a prophecy mean that the world's future is set no matter what?

That's what I'm going to try do with Tiberion. A poor nobody who isn't too good at anything...except for stealing, but even there, he's not the best. For some reason, he's the prophesized savior, but he refuses to do what's expected of him...

But then...supposedly all of the prophecies were just created by man, written in a book to appease the masses long ago, and so, who's to say that it's anything more than coincidence in the first place?

I'm actually quite excited about the world-building and creating new characters (without elves, goblins, orcs, trolls, and every other common race that exists in fantasy novels), while also trying to tell a story that progresses and isn't too predictable.

We'll see how it works. I think it'll be much harder to have people find and read my book, lost amidst the thousands of fantasy books that are released each day, as opposed to a book about human trafficking, which does sort of stand out, especially when it becomes front-page newsworthy.......Even though, to be honest, it should always be front-page newsworthy.

So....I'll guess that the release date will be the beginning of September. My brother's birthday is 9/9, maybe i'll do it that day as a birthday gift to him, forever immortalizing that day in 'history'.
